I have a Time Capsule which I haven't used for two years or something.

I was thinking of using it again and properly, but I'm wondering if you can encrypt backups so other people who use it can't go on your backup?

I can't remember if I was able to get onto my brother's MacBook backup when I did have it set up, but it definitely showed up in Finder; it didn't just show my backup.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it out.

Also another question.

I just bought a 'powerline' adapter kit, the one in my room has 3 Ethernet ports (One for PS3, one for iMac, and a spare). If I plug the Time Capsule into the third port, will it be accessible through the Wi-Fi as well? Or will I need to plug the Time Capsule into the router to get it on the network?

The TC is a wireless router with a bundles HDD. So you could connect - Router - Powerline (from router) to Powerline (bedroom) to TC. Then 3 devices can be wired to the TC's built in switch or you can extend/create wireless network.
