Hi, wondering if it is possible to change dates of old messages to make them look like they are new?
I dont know if changing date in settings would automatically change all times in previous messages.

Changing the time zone will affect the time stamp of the message, but only by hours (depending on the time zone you pick). The issue is ALL messages will be affected.

If you're trying to fool someone for what ever reason, it really won't work since all the messages will be affected.

In school when I'd send teachers my home work late this is what i'd do:
I'd first send them the homework, but type their email address wrong so it wouldn't go through. Then I'd forward them the message and manual change the time stamps on the forwarded message to make it look new.
I'd do the same thing when i'd claim their assignments where sent to me late.
Good thing many of my teacher weren't too computer savvy and didn't catch on :p

Im not trying to fool someone but trying to work out if I've been fooled.
basically it was a whole convo time and dates last week. But the other person says those messages were from months ago. I don't even have an iphone so i don't know if it's possible. Or were they definitely sent on time and date shown. Thanks

I guess changing the regional settings ought to do that. But if you want to change the date and time for a specific message, I guess that'll be a tad difficult.
By regional settings do you mean time zone?

I think someone would have to be very savvy to do this. Basically restore the phone from a "cooked" version of the message store. I don't know if it's possible to
change the date and time of a backed up iMessage on your computer. I'm assuming, as everything else software related, with enough time and energy anything can be accomplished.

Why not just add a new number to the name of your sender contact and rewrite the message again and send it to your phone ?
