Can you get the 2G into DFU mode from the AT&T activation screen in iTunes?

Been trying for 2 days now and can't seem to get me 2G iPhone into DFU mode.

Upgraded from 1.14 to 2.0 and now my 2G iPhone is at the Activation screen, but was trying to use the Winpwn to Activate/Unlock. I need to get it into DFU mode and have been trying and trying with no luck.

So... can you get it into DFU mode with you can only get to an Activating screen in iTunes?
