I have a 2-month old macbook and I am going to upgrade my ram. I have two sets to choose from, the price is close enough that I just want the better of the two. Both have great user ratings from PC and MAC users.

I have a question as well, with regards to latency, is it simply, the lower the better, or is there a level of compatability at play? Also, I had thought that I should only be looking at PC2 5300?

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory - 4-4-4-12

or

mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory.....5-5-5-15

Any help would be appreciated.....

The lower the CAS latency (given the same clock speed), the less time it takes to fetch data from it. So in novice terms, 'the lower CAS latency, the better it is.'

Mushkin = CAS Latency of 5
G.SKILL = CAS Latency of 4

If only allowed to pick from those two, G.SKILL would be faster. By their ratings at newegg they are about equal in being liked.
