Once you green-poison or limerain JB your iPhone 4, can it be restored to pre-JB state?

Also, what is the steps that one needs to know before using these JBs?

Yes, just plug it into iTunes and click the Restore button, then when it's done restoring click "Setup as a new iPhone." Caution: Doing this without restoring though TinyUmbrella will remove your ability to unlock, possibly forever.

Ok, so I want to use TinyUmbrella to restore it is what you're saying. Ok, so I'm assuming I have to do something with TU first before JB the phone? Does TU preserve something on the iPhone?

you can always go back to the latest vanilla; older vanilla fw's if you saved your hashes...

Remember, if you don't have your hashes (SHSH) on file, you will only be able to restore to the current version. You will however, be completely jailbreak-free on that version.

Yes...you can always do a restore in iTunes...therefore erasing a JB should you need to return your iPhone to Apple/AT&T.

I don't know if it was clearly stated but you are better served to save your shsh blobs with TinyUmbrella prior to a JB. That way you can maintain your current baseband (maintains abilities to unlock) in addition to being able to revert back to a previous OS...if you need to.

If your trying to JB to OS 4.1...and you're are at 4.01 or 4.02...the procedure would be:
1) Save your shsh blobs with TU (if you wish).
2) Upgrade your OS ("Check For Upgrade") in iTunes 10. If you choose to upgrade you will be upgraded to 4.1.
3) JB with greenpois0n, limera1n or PwnageTool. Either will do.

Cool, thanks for the thorough steps. Are there any security issues?
