I've looked for this SJ quotation everywhere but can't find it. The gist of it is that SJ says that he likes people on an individual basis but as a group of individuals gets larger and larger, the dynamic sours and he has little regard (or patience) or something like that, for groups of individuals.

Does this ring a bell? Can anyone point me to the actual quotation?

Might it be this one?

"As individuals, people are inherently good. I have a somewhat more pessimistic view of people in groups. And I remain extremely concerned when I see what's happening in our country, which is in many ways the luckiest place in the world. We don't seem to be excited about making our country a better place for our kids."
