Can you install later versions of QuickTime on SL?

Since there's no 10.6 forum (not sure why) I thought I'd post in the place with the most traffic, feel free to move it if needed.

Is it possible to run later versions of QT (eg. 10.2 or later) on OSX 10.6.8? It comes with QT 10.0 obviously, but features were added in later versions that I'd like to use if possible while keeping SL.

If it is possible, which files do I need to copy over?

Please only comment if you have actually tried it (or are 100% sure), thanks in advance.
