I am considering installing windows 8 on my macbook. However the retail versions are 'upgrades' where you are meant to already have a previous version of windows installed. However I have heard that this is not actually the case and that it does work as a full install. Can anyone confirm that they have installed Windows 8 on their mac without already having windows 7 installed? :D

Hi, it's possible. At least if you are on a windows box. You can go trrough the setup and choose 'order' then just download the complete ISO. That iso you can use again to install from a DVD or USB Pen.
