I've upgraded my phone after the September date that AT&T scheduled for data plans to be required for all smart phones. But I'm wondering if I can somehow use an iPhone without a data plan? I know most of the features are online required but I won't be using them.

AT&T's Sim (or even a T-Mobile Sim) both require some sort of charge for data and as long as your using it on either network and if you didn't want data then why have one (I shouldn't be talking because mine isn't even on a plan) the simcards know when they are in an iPhone (to my understanding) call up AT&T and find out. :D

Can't you somehow manipulate the IMEI number or something with jailbreak?
