Can you keep the iPhone when you cancel and pay the ETF?

I have the iPhone 3Gs and if Verizon also carries the 4th Gen iPhone then I plan on canceling my iPhone contact with ATT, but will they make you give the iPhone back since it was subsidized?

i will have the iPhone for 1 year come the release of the iPhone 4th Gen, does the ATT ETF go down $5 every month? So I would get $60 off the ETF?
