It is my understanding that to trigger a change in a song's "Play Count" or "Last Played" data you have to listen to the whole song. Is that correct? Is it possible to set the PC and LP data such that you can listen to a song very briefly and still trigger them? Thanks.

By default, if you listen to the last couple of seconds of the song it will add to the play count and change the last played time.

If I'm away from my iPod and am forced to listen to a CD, to update the play count I'll simply pull the album up and play the last few seconds of each song...that's the only way I know to change play count/last played.
