Hi there, hoping for some quick advice. My mom is getting the new iPhone 17 this weekend, and I'm trying to coach her on the backup process from afar. She only has the standard 5GB iCloud storage, which is nowhere near enough. I told her about the free temporary iCloud storage for new devices. The plan was for her to go into Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone, and tap Prepare for a New iPhone to get the unlimited space for her backup that's valid for 30 days.
Here's my question: She's a bit of a worrier, so I'm wondering if she can create one temporary backup now, and then make another updated one on Friday right before she goes to the store? With a normal iCloud plan, each subsequent backup overwrites the previous one, so you always have the most recent version. Does this same rule apply to the free temporary storage? Or is she only allowed one shot at the temporary backup? I've seen some conflicting info online.
