This seems like a “no,“ but is it possible to have calendar alerts stay on the lock screen like reminders? currently, if you get an alert about a calendar event and then Unlock your phone.....the notification disappears. Anyway to change that so it’s persistent until I clear it like a reminder?

I don't think that's possible.
I've sent feedback in the past that there should be a way to "pin" a notification so it stays on the lock screen at the top. We've already got pinned tabs in Safari and pinned notes in Notes. You should probably send feedback too.
