Can you only use the Education Gift Card for digital items?

not in my experience, I had an Itunes gift card and bought something off the shelf at the local apple store.

My point is that an iTunes card can't be used in the apple store. You need an apple store giftcard...hence I don't buy your cliam

Not sure about iTunes gift cards though. They're readily available for 30% off from many retailers, might be tough to get over 70% for it.

Would be a better plan to buy from Best Buy and get one of their gift cards, which you can then use to buy an Amazon or Apple store gift card instead if you don't want to use it on iTunes or the App Store (which most people don't).

Type in iTunes into the search field, and it'll let you sell your $100 card for $75.

What if you try buying stuff from an Apple store using the Apple Store iphone app? It lets you check out yourself and charged your iTunes account. If you have a gift card balance, maybe it will deduct it from that first?

when you redeem your itunes card it goes into your account balance, which like I stated would work on anything. The catch is that it has to be through the app.
