Can you or why can't you rotate pictures on the iphone

Either i don't know how, or you just can't do this? if i want to use a landscape image as my wallpaper i can only zoom in and crop. But i can't rotate it. I even rotated the image to portrait in iphoto before syncing it to avoid this problem and it still turn back to landscape.

You just cant. Its not built into the software or whatever to be able to flip.
