Back when we preordered the two iPhone 6 phones, I seem to recall having to do it as two transactions, with the second one getting messed up and delayed.

Does anyone know if it is possible to preorder two iPhones in the same transactions from Apple or is doing two transactions required? I can't recall if we used the family AppleID or separate ones either.

On pre-orders, it is one device per order, so 2 iPhones = 2 separate Orders, and you are not allowed to add any accessories on the order. You can use the same ID for both orders. If you are planning to use the same Credit Card for both orders, you might consider letting your Card Issuer know 24hrs before your large purchases.

Best option if you are ordering 2 iPhone X units is to have 2 iPhones with the Apple Store app all setup and ready to go once the Pre-order Window opens.

I am not seeing this as doable in a single transaction. Looks like two may be required, especially if they are one of each color.
