I know we can buy music directly from the Touch, but can you rent Movies or buy TV shows directly from the Touch? If not... any idea of when?

I'm sure they'll enable that soon. It just makes too much sense (read: $$$) for them not to do it. They need to figure out a way to make sure they erase, though, because someone could download a bunch of stuff then turn off wifi and have it as long as they want.

yea, but downloading a large movie file would take awhile :/ especially like 3hour movies like lord of the rings, lol.

It took me 4 hours to download a movie on iTunes the other day (via broadband/802.11n). If you did that on the touch, the battery would die first. This would'nt work. Plus, you're not normally sitting in a wifi area for enough time to get a movie without an uninterrupted connection.

True, but TV shows could work.

I highly doubt they will ever add that because..........

1. It will WIPE your battery out just downloading a TV show or 2

2. The downloads would take forever. Are you going to be able to set your touch down in one place for hours on end without breaking the connection and or draining your battery? No.

Maybe the answer is not to download, but to stream. Like what the Archos can do.

Hows does itunes make sure the movie rental is erased after its time period when rented normally through itunes?

yeah but even whith the apple tv it has a timer on the file itself it does not use wifi to deem it unusalbe
