Wondering if its possible to update my older, not-being-used 8gig 2g iphone with settings from my current 16gig 3g iphone (settings: primarily email and apps). The idea is to have a backup iphone ready to go in case something happened to my current 3g.

Current 3g iPhone is one year old and has used 11 of the available 14.6 gigs of space.

I'm thinking that somehow this is somehow possible, but that first I must get the 3g down to 7 gigs of used space or less so that it all fits on the 8gig 2g.

Should i wipe/clear my 2g first? Thoughts and suggestions as to how to achieve this most efficiently are welcome.
