Can you return an instore purchase online?

I looked everywhere and I see that you can return an online Apple Store purchase instore,but I don't see any information about returning a store purchase online. Can you do this?

Call them and try to do it.

Apple will take back stuff you bought online when you return it to a store, so they'll probably do the inverse. The easiest way to determine if they will is to pick up a phone.
