I have a large collection I would like to RIP. I'd be using handbrake and a mac mini 2012 i7, I think I saw a comment that mentioned loading a bunch of DVD's in the queue, then starting it before you go to bed.

I tried it with two dvd's and while it worked, handbrake looked like it went nuts. Am I doing something wrong with the settings?

Also what is the limit to how many USB DVD drives you could load up?

I am guessing you need a powered hub, but USB2 or USB3?

Seems too easy to just stack a bunch of DVD drives and let them RIP, seems like there must be a catch.

I think I figured out the limitation to this, the super drives won't work off a hub, even if its powered. I was planning on getting aftermarket drives anyway, but I never considered the power draw part.

Still not sure why handbrake seemed to be doing doing both jobs at the same time. It never did that when I encode multiple files in the queque.
