can you run apple TV using an iphone as a hotspot

I've done it with an LTE Windows phone (my work phone) so the iPhone should work.
Mine worked fine with the Apple TV. However, something I have had problems with on the hotspot is apostrophes and other symbols. Try going to settings->general->about and click the top option that has your iphone's name and replace it with "iPhone".
Also make sure your phones wifi is turned on.
