Hi All,

Running an interval app on my S2. (1 minutes running, 1 minute rest, repeat)

However, I can’t run the apple native run app, or Strava with it, to record historically how much I’ve run, or where etc.
(The interval app I’m using is App is called “Intervals pro” - only free version at the moment, trying it out the 1st time today.)

Using the Apple stop watch is a real pain to reset each time, for interval training, when you are out on the road and sweaty, and want to keep going without stopping to fiddle with watch etc.

Is there another way of doing this on the S2?

Can the S6 run more than 1 app at a time, like what I‘m trying to do here?

Hope you can advise.

Regards
Martin

I'm the Interval Pro developer. You can use it with other workout apps at the same time.

If you want to run the Apple Workout app or another fitness app at the same time as Intervals, that means that the Apple Workout app will be tracking your workout (heart rate, distance, calories, etc). Apple only allows one workout app track fitness data that at a time. One disadvantage of using another app to track fitness data is that you won't be able to see the details interval stats that Intervals Pro provides in the Logbook.

Here’s what you need to do:

1) Edit the Intervals workout timer on your iPhone.
2) Tap on the Apple Heath Section under the name of the timer.
3) Tap on Workout and set Activity Type to running. Select indoor/outdoor.
4) Select walk/run if you might want to use the timer sometimes by itself.
5) Enable the “Disable Fitness Tracking” switch if its not already enabled. When you enable this switch, you may get prompted to enable location permission. Intervals needs this permission to run in the background and work with the Apple Watch app.
6) If you did not get prompted for location access, tap on the More tab (3 dots icon) in Intervals. Scroll down to the Permissions section and tap on the second setting. It will either say “Allow Location Access” or “Open Setting”. Follow the instructions to make sure location access is given to Intervals.

Now just start the Intervals timer on your watch along with the Apple Workout app. The order doesn’t matter.
