I currently have a 2.16 C2D MBP that i love. My wifes HP laptop recently died and i would like to buy her a MBP with the same case/design as i have. Neither one of us like the new design at all.

Is there anywhere you can still purchase the previous gen new and get Apple care?

You can buy a refurbished MacBook Pro and still get the AppleCare warranty. It is on the Apple Store page under Refurbished Mac.

Go to apple.com, hit the store link, go to the bottom and you will see a refurbished mac link and the new previous machines are on the bottom. I understand the refurbished are very clean and thoroughly tested and will save you a couple hundred dollars on top of that. Remember that you can also buy Applecare with all their machines for a total of three years coverage.

Apple is quickly becoming a drug...

In 2 years that makes two MBP's an iPod touch, iPod nano, Airport Extreme, several programs and games. Apple should hook me up for all the friends and family i have gotten hooked...

Amen, I think the only cure for hitting that "buy" button is this damned economy. Be careful, the next generation of MacPro and iMacs are about to be announced.

amazon

or amazon, they have them.
a new rebate should be coming in the next few days.
