So I just started using the "mail" app on my macbook.

I liked up my Gmail to it. It's great. I really like it.
But, it's trying to import ALL of my emails from my gmail... I haven't deleted an email since I got Gmail seven years ago.. So I have a lot of emails.

Is there a way to stop "Mail" from importing all the old emails? And just let it import the "new" emails I get starting from today?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, i'm running OSX 10.8 if that matters.

Thanks.

Go into the gmail.com settings and you can limit IMAP to the most recent 1,000 messages. Also, go to the labels section and tell it not to sync the All Mail folder to Mail. That will cut the syncing in half.
