Can you stream online TV on an iphone?

I watch sports online streaming with sites like vipbox.tv. I also use to do this with sites where you could stream cable tv online such as espn, usa etc. I did this with my laptop of course. Usually when i do this, i have to turn ad block of otherwise it won't work. I also would have to X out some boxes before i could watch the stream. Thus you could stream nfl games through sites like this and tv channels as well through these sites.


I have never been able to do this with my iphone. Can you do this with an iphone? I think it required me to download something but when i tried, i couldn't download? Does this have to do with adobe flash or something like this? What about an ipad?

I never used but notice for example espn has an App they want you to download to stream, not via browser.
