Pre-ordered the iPhone 6 this morning to be shipped to my house from Apple.

I currently have a working iPhone 5, which, according the Apple site, I can use toward the purchase of a new phone. (worth like $200 now).

Can you still take the phone to a local store and get the credit\gift card even when you have already "purchased" on line? I'm thinking so, but haven't seen anything with solid info other than the on line mail it to the recycling place thing.

Thanks

same question, I want to pre-order online to guarantee one on launch day, But I wan't to turn in my 5S for credit when I get my new phone.
Is this possible?

Following up on this for anyone that wants to know.

I stopped by my local Apple store and asked the manager about bringing a phone in that was pre-ordered on line and getting the Apple gift card. She said no problem. As long as the phone was ordered through Apple directly, and you bring the box for the new one, or receipt, they will issue an Apple gift card for it.
