Is there any type of signal, such as the serial number, that iTunes sends out that I could possibly have Apple hunt down my stolen iPod. It was stolen Friday, and i'm sick to my stomach over it. Please get back to me, thanks.

This one is going to hurt for a long while. Refuse to buy another one with a 6G around the corner.

Sorry, but your precious iPod has already been traded for $20 worth of crack. Might as well go ahead and report the theft to the police. Provide the model# and serial# off your original packaging label. If you had a custom engraving done on the back, note that too. Chances are you'll never see it again, but there's always a chance it'll be seized during a raid, or turn-up at a pawn shop.
