OK then so we're seeing a lot of problems with upgrading unlocked/jailbroken 1.0.2 iPhones but can you take a working 1.1.1 iPhone, activate and unlock it as was possible with 1.0.2?

Thanks
Dan

I'm not too bothered, the O2 UK model isn't that far off now and tbh I could probably make do with a 1.0.2 unlocked US iPhone as itunes wifi store isn't exactly top of my priorities list.

Still interested to see the results when the Dev team turn their hands to it...

Have you not learnt anything?

Apple will just disable the phones again with the next update.

yes....and then we will figure out a way to unlock them again. This is a techno-geek war and it will continue for a very long time.

Oh good.
Can you all shut up moaning then if you know it's going to happen?

Thanks.
:)

What a complete waste of time...

what is a complete waste of time? Figuring out ways to add 3rd party apps again? I dissagree. 3rd party apps have added so much to my iPhone, so much more than Apple has with their lame updates.

On that note, I am not a dev, nor do I know anything about programming. I am not using any time myself to solve this issue due to lack of knowledge, but I am very grateful to those who are.

This same issue has been going on with the PSP for a long time now, update/relock->unlock/new features->update/relock->unlock/new features. Thats just how it is until one of the two parties gives up. Seeing how big of an item the iPhone is, im guessing neither will give up anytime soon.

You can say how much of a waste of time it is all you want....but believe it or not, I know there is some people that actually enjoy the challenge and find it fun (not me, but there has to be some)...so no matter what you say they will continue to try and break it again and again.

stupid buffoon.... if you criticise apple then why buy apple. Some people honestly have nothing better to do. I thought apple were doing you a favour by having such a good device on the market. They don't have to bother you know so just appreciate what they do actually do.......

How have I critizied apple? By calling their updates lame? Maybe I shouldnt have said that, because I welcome all updates because it improves their products. I love Apple and thier products, and I think the updates are a great thing.

All I was trying to do is make a point that I think the 3rd party apps close the gaps for some of us. Dont think I was saying that it is wrong for apple to try and stop the 3rd party apps because it isnt, I would if I were them too.

On a different note, I think we could go without the rude comments...I am entitled to my opinion just as you are, I have not called anyone that is bitching about how people are complaining about the bricked phones a "stupid baffoon" or anything insulting.

I am trying to have an "adult" conversation.
