Hi,

I just received a replacement iPhone 5 that is on iOS 6.0.2. Is there anyway to update it to 6.1.2? My backup is from 6.1.1 and i would like to restore it and be able to still jailbreak. I read other posts that you were not able to but I wanted to check if anything has changed as of April 5, 2013.

Thanks in advance.

Nope, you are stuck on 6.0.2 if you want to jailbreak

A whole back, someone wrote this, not sure if it works or not

locate your backup on your computer.
For Windows, it's at "C:/Documents and Settings/[USERNAME]/Application Data/Apple Computer/MobileSync/Backup". For Mac, it's "~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup"
Locate your latest backup and search for the info.plist file. Edit it with a text editor and look for this string: <key>Product Version</key>
Change 6.1.2 to 6.0.2 and save.
You can now restore to this backup on 6.0.2.
