Can you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8 on a Mac?

If you have a copy of Windows 7 running on a Mac under boot camp or Parallels 8, can you upgrade it to Windows 8 using the upgrade version that Microsoft is selling? Or do you need to re-install a full version of Windows 8? I personally don't think there would be trouble with the dual boot version but how about the one installed under Parallels?

I don't know about the bootcamp one. I guess it would work anyway. The Parallels one does.

yes the bootcamp one works just fine too. I have done and has win8 running now after a few months. no problems. (other than the typical win8 problems, not mac related).
