I must have missed the option as I was clicking submit. All I saw was in store pick unavailable. Any ideas? I dont want to email and have them cancel and reorder which would delay things anyway

As I was placing my order with the Apple Store App, I did notice a "Ship it Faster" option, but I wanted to get my order in ASAP so I just left it as standard shipping. I am checking my order now which is in the Processing Items stage. I don't see how you can change the shipping options though. You must not be able to.

You *may* be able to call AppleCare with your order number and update the shipping. I've read that others have confirmed this with other Apple products. Either way, I don't see it making a big difference. (For the record, I'll pay the $10 if I can just in case it does make a difference.)

I had to make a second order because I missed that option the first time. Will cancel the first order, I dont need four gold iphones.

You can't do it through the website, but if you call or chat cust service they can upgrade the shipping for you. I did it right after placing my order.

I can confirm they will change the shipping option if you call. I happened to ask while I was having them fix my shipping address. :)

Copied and pasted directly from FAQ on the chat:

Can I expedite the shipping method for my iPhone order?
Apple is using the fastest shipping method possible to ensure your order delivers on time. At this time, expedited shipping methods are unavailable for iPhone orders.

How are you guys getting through to Apple? I keep trying to call and it just says they can't take my call at this time due to high call volume...

Does it move you to the back of the queue? i.e. do they cancel and reorder? Not sure worth risk for the chance for 2 days sooner. The expedited and standard delivery dates overlap

I tried a couple times and eventually got through. I've been on hold now for 15 minutes so I still haven't talked to anyone.

While trying to chat with AppleCare, I was presented with this as a top question:

Very interesting for sure.

EDIT*

I'm hold right now to see if I can the shipping expedited.

Millions of ip5s and ip5c will be shipping out, any route they pass thru will overload the system, if you order go thru, I will leave it alone, doesn't worth the risk.

I called Apple and waited on hold for about 50 minutes. I was easily able to upgrade to Next Day Shipping however I was told that because it is shipping from overseas, it will not actually be overnight shipping. It did move my delivery estimate up by one day.

I just got off the phone with CS and was told that since the phones were coming from overseas that they were all being shipped as quickly as possible anyways. He also said that sometimes changing something on the order could negatively affect the shipping time too so I was better off just leaving everything as is. One thing he did also add is that their delivery dates were were very conservative and that we should probably get the phones earlier rather than later. Guess we'll see soon enough!

I hope so, we'll find out once we get the shipping info.

Not happy

Just spoke with a customer service representative who says expedited shipping in NOT an option available, and that anyone who makes such a change to their order is actually going to delay it by taking it out of sequence in the queue. I dont know what to make of that, but it is clearly a change in practice from what was done in prior launches. So the "ships in 1-3 days" plus delivery time is 10 days on an order placed within the first three minutes of availability.

I can confirm that expedited shipping is not an option. All are getting sent simultaneously. Several reps have confirmed this.

Also, spoke with a few AT&T store and CSRs that said once you use an upgrade online it can take several days for it to get reversed. So if you ordered and are waiting on line you might want to go home unless you are paying full price. Again, your carrier might differ. This is for AT&T.
