Sorry for the question, I'm not very bright.

Can you upgrade the processors in the new Mac Pro's in the future if you choose to?

I have seen a couple people mention to but the 2.6 for now and upgrade them in the future when the price of the processors drops.

I didn't know if I was misinterpreting what they were writing.

Thanks ahead of time.

Chad

It was possible on the 08' Mac Pro, but you had to remove the big bulky heat sink and other parts to get to the processor. Really hard and long.

I guess you can do it on the new Mac Pro too, would be really idiot to not make the motherboard accessible eventual repairs. Take into consideration that it will void the warranty of your Mac Pro, as I believe it's not covered under Apple Care.

You're paying for the first set of processors...then paying for a whole new set of processors. Possible yes, but not really economically sound when you add up the cost.

And...there are many other threads with this exact question. The "Search Forums" field does wonders.
