Can you use a 12.9 Magic Keyboard with an iPad 11?

Hi gang,

Odd question. I've got a personal iPad Pro 12.9 and an iPad Pro 11 through work. If I purchase a magic keyboard, is there a size of MK that would work with both iPad Pros (albeit looking a little wonky)?

Specifically, I'd like to purchase the 12.9 magic keyboard and still be able to use it to type/navigate on the 11. Does anyone know if the iPad 11 will attach to the 12.9 magic keyboard, or are the magnets going to be completely out of place? (I understand it wouldn't be useful as a case/cover)

I'd be more concerned that the smart connectors wouldn't work. I have a 12.9 iPP and MK, and guesstimating where the 11 would hit the MK I'm not sure the smart connectors and connecting to only some of the magnets would be very effective. Also I think if it did work, we'd hear more about it from MR members who have both.

You can always take ur iPad to the Apple store (or authorized sellers) and try it with their display units

I just tried my wife’s new iPad Air 4 on my 12.9” Magic Keyboard, and can say with absolute certainty that they are not compatible.
