I have the very first MBP and there are four reasons making me think about upgrading.

1) My wifi reception is really bad, inconsistent
2) It gets so darn hot
3) Battery last 3 hours
4) Speed and max RAM of 2Gig

I am looking at the classic MBP that right now can be had for less than the 2.4 Macbook. Even though I like the size and weight of that one the MBP on clearance look really nice!

So the $1400 question is:
Will I see a significant improvement on the items above or am I better off to wait for the new generation to drop in price and hold on to my first gen?

My major gripes are the first two items by far! I want to sit and surf with the MBP in my lap without having to have protective gear in between it and my pants...

Really appreciate comments from people who bought the Classic MBP lately and or decided on new MB/MBP instead.

Mine is good
2) It gets so darn hot
Yes mine does too, but define hot- mine is not painful
3) Battery last 3 hours
I get 4 to 4.5 hours
4) Speed and max RAM of 2Gig
I just ordered 4 gigs and there are threads saying that they support more than 4.

My definition:

You can use it on your lap while surfing and playing itunes, or watching a CBS video without the fans going crazy!

So do you use it in your lap?

Not quite on topic, but if the early 08 MBPs are now being called 'classic', what does that make my pre-SR C2D MBP?
