Iv got the magic mouse for my iMac and I want to know if I can use it to play FPS games like cod or would i need to get another mouse?

I've had a Magic Mouse for a few weeks, and whilst it's excellent for scrolling and trackpad-like gestures, it's not a gaming mouse. Sure it will work for games, but it just might not be that comfortable.

i just wanted to know if it's usable. Im thinking of using an xbox 360 wired controller for gaming but for now the mouse would have to do

yes its very useable i use it on all my games, remember it has right click as well just like others, it can take some getting used to because of the scroll effect

I'd advise against using the magic mouse for gaming for 2 rarely mentioned annoyances:

1. You can't left and right click at the same time.
2. Scrolling is really sensitive and not well supported in most games so can be triggered by accident.

Taken together I'd stay clear of the magic mouse for gaming unless all you play are strategy games (or similarly slow paced games).

If games are first on your list of things you like to do on your mac then I would suggest another brand.

I prefer the Logitech G-series.

After saying that though, I do still use my Magic Mouse for some games when I do play them occasionally. WoW, Diablo, Arkham Asylum, etc.

The magic mouse is shweet for most things. Games? Not so much.

My magic mouse lasted all of about 2 weeks when it came to gaming. From Urban Terror to COD, to the MofA series, I have to say it SUCKED. From there I went to my kensington trackball I use to get all of my daily stuffs done and it was alright, Finally settled on the iHome laser mouse. It was dirt cheap. But it fit well in my hand, is responsive and damned accurate for what it is. :D I know you can spend your kids inheritance on a gaming mouse if you are that serious about it all. But the iHome? Seems to fit the bill across the board for us casual gamers.
