I am going to purchase a Mac Pro in around two weeks and I need to know can you use the old Mac Pro graphics cards in the new one?

The GeForce 8800 GT and Radeon HD 3870 should work fine in the 2009 Mac Pro. We will verify it as soon as our 2009 arrives in our lab.

Also, we plan to verify that the Radeon HD 4870 works in the first gen Mac Pro. A reliable source as assured me it will work even if Apple doesn't support it officially.

I am waited with great anticipation on the 4870 review. I have a 2008 mac pro that came with the 8800 and I hate it. It performs horrifically in the one game I play whereas the 3870 I had in my 2007 mac pro blew it away. I was planning buying another 3870, but now it seems foolish to do so until I see what the 4870 can do.
