hello,

basically i have just bought a recon ibook g3 just for college work, it has not got an airport card and i thought there may be a way of using my touch as like a wireless receiver when its connected via usb to the laptop?

:eek: otherwise its a trip to ebay to get an airport card :apple::apple:

thanks,
joe

No, there's no way of transmitting the signal through the usb. Even if you could, I don't think it would work very well and I wouldn't want to put the extra strain on a ~$300 device when you can just buy a WiFi card for your computer for under $50.

just thought it would be worth a try, i wouldnt of thought i would be slow though if ut could be done as you get usb receivers anyway.

cheers for the reply

Get a USB wifi adapter. You can find them for $10.

You can also get an airport card for $60 or so.

You cannot use it as a wifi receiver. The wireless card will ofcourse cost you heavy monthly fees and thus be more expensive than $50. However, I agree with Steve here with the fact that "there is no way of transmitting the signal through usb."
