I've been using my iP6S making a conscious effort to not press/click the home button,

Mostly to see if 3D Touch is making the home button press obsolete.

I've probably press/clicked my home button ~3 times in the last ~2 weeks, and those were reflexive.

I press the edge of the screen to enter the app switcher -- it's second nature to me already.

I must note that I haven't enabled Touch ID or passcode at this time, and I'm sure my app collection is tiny in comparison to most of your's.

So, how close are we to getting rid of the press/click function of the home button? Can you navigate around your iP6S/+ and your apps without pressing your home button and without Assistive Touch workarounds? What am I missing here?

What are you missing? A problem in search of a solution...

Until Apple bakes the Home Button into the screen or solves the UI some other way, why would I want to try to "retrain" myself to not use the button? When they do, I'll be happy to give up the button for a smaller lower bezel. Until then, I'll continue to click away.

But feel free to continue your experiment, and let us know how it goes.
