Can you used the earbuds with Skype as phone

Can use the iPhone earbuds with skype, will it recognize the mic?

Unfortunately not. I tried to accomplish this for the same exact reason, but if you plug the earphones into the line-in, and then go to system preferences, no sound will register on the sound meter.

Would be an outstanding idea since I already use the same headphones to listen to music on my MBP.
