I only just realized the screen on an iPad is 4:3 today and there will be black lines blocking out a lot of the screen.

Is it still possible to have a pleasant experience watching movies?

Also, does someone with an iPad please mind checking out this website - http://www.rainierland.com to see if you can watch those movies?

It's just an ad free streaming site.

Cheers

Here are some screen shots of my Rainierland visit on iPad Mini 2:

You can decide whether or not the quality is something you'd like to watch. To me it was alright up to the point before I stretched the black bars out of the screen. The website worked pretty well.

Sure is. Just used it on a flight to and from a destination. Two of us watching the movie with a headphone splitter. Worked great and could clearly see the movies.

You could get a 16:9 device, but then how will you watch 2.35:1?

I personally think the mini is the perfect size screen for any type of media consumption. I love it. Tried the 7" Fire HD and, while fine for video, it was very poorly suited for web, photos, etc.
