Obviously you can with AirPrint compatible printers, but what about a normal printer hooked up to an airport express?

Yep, you can hook a USB printer to the Express. The Express doesn't work with hard drives for file sharing though - that's just the Extreme.

Edit: Whoops, didn't realize this was the iPad thread..sowwy haha

You can from a Mac or PC but I'm not sure you can from an iPad. It either has to be hooked up to a computer (running something like Printopia) or one of the HP AirPrint ones which allows wireless printing.

printing from iPad via Airport Express

The short answer is yes, with limitations.

I connected my USB printer to my Airport Express and then shared the printer on my MacBook. Several apps on the iPad enable printing to a shared printer on the network. I used AirSharing with good results. The limitation is you have to open your document in AirSharing (or whatever app you use) to print it.

If you seriously want to print from your iPad, I strongly suggest buying a new HP printer with AirSharing. I bought a new color LaserJet for only $230 and it is amazingly simple to print with the built-in print functions on the iPad!

Just tried airport activator. Works GREAT! Now I can print using my iPhone, iPad and iMac (already worked with mac) :D Thanks guys!
