Interesting. This is my first launch day pre order that I am getting delivered so I wasn’t aware the previous ones shipped from Concord.

I shared that my tracking went live in the US pre-order thread and people are surprised there’s a facility scan at Kunshan as that’s a deviation from previous years.
If I remember correctly, it’s been Shenzhen the past few years for US orders.

It looks like Kunshan is quite close to Shanghai so I’m guessing the UPS flights will be leaving from Shanghai to Anchorage to Louisville and then to Canada.

Could be that Apple is manufacturing non-US iPhones at a different plant. Canada, as well as the rest of the world, still have a SIM slot, but the US phones don’t but they do have mmWave. Just my speculation LoL… given that Canada normally ships locally could explain why we haven’t seen Kunshan City before.

I had set up my order in advance through the app.

Logged in at 8:01 AM ET and was easy one-button order.

Definitely regretting my decision to ship versus pick up in store as I remember last year, the post office claimed they delivered on launch day but never made an attempt and took straight to the post office for me to pick up.

How did you see this in UPS My Choice. I open my app but don't see anything. Do I need to enter my Apple tracking number?
You need to have a UPS My Choice account with your delivery address associated and I believe it had to be verified by mail when I first signed up years ago before packages started appearing under to “To Me” section of the UPS iPhone app. Any UPS package from any store/shipper consistently shows up as soon as the label is created.

Edit: I believe people have had success searching by reference number on the UPS website using either their 10 digit phone number or order number minus the last two digits (so Wxxxxx minus the last two numbers).

I stand corrected. Mine is in Kunshan as well. Must be a new change because even the AVP pre order a couple months ago was bulk shipped to Concord.

I preordered my 16PM in desert titanium at 5:58AM MST through Bell upgrades. I was shocked to see them live before Apple even launched.

Mine has also shown up on UPS My Choice. Already scanned in Kunshan City, China. Showing Sept 20 delivery, despite Apple showing Sept 23 for me.

Normally Canadian orders ship directly from the Concord warehouse but I guess this year they are coming straight from China! Now to track the planes LoL…
Thasks for posting this, I just checked the UPS app and mine is the same.

I’m seeing my two that had said Sept 23rd now showing in my choice as Sept 20!

Mine is still at preparing to shipping status but still have the September 20 delivery date.

The US thread seems to be reporting the weight as 0.40kgs. UPS shows mine is at 0.60kgs. I assume shipments originating from Kunshan will all match.

My order is still processing but still shows an arrival date of Friday, September 20th. It's not a store pickup order.

Literally one of the most insignificant year on year updates in history. At these prices I would jump at an opportunity to buy a 15 or 15 pro at a discount if possible.
Last year was less of change actually. Literally nothing new but rounded edges and a lense upgrade. This year there is a lot new. Upgraded main sensor, upgraded wide angle camera to 48MP, bigger screen, bigger battery with a 13% increase and the new haptic camera button with visual intelligence which will only work on the 16 Pro. Possibly the biggest upgrade since the iPhone 12.

There is no new main sensor, the bigger screen is almost imperceptible, bigger battery comes with a heavier and physically larger phone, and visual intelligence (along with all other intelligence features) is not available, some of them until *next year*. Sorry but I strongly disagree that this is a big upgrade. In some ways it’s a step backward.

Just got an email from Telus Web Store

"We are pleased to inform you that your order has been submitted for shipment and which will be ship by September 20th 2024"
Interesting! I've ordered through Telus on Friday and my order is still processing. Hopefully I get a confirmation today

False. Actually, the main sensor is a new « Second-generation quad-pixel sensor with faster readout speeds and zero shutter lag »
