I will be moving to Canada soon and am trying to find a good sim plan (i have the phone) mainly with data, however they all seem so expensive!?

TO put it into context in Australia I pay AU$45 for 5 GB of data and unlimited calls/text's.

So I would like to ask two questions
1) What plan are you on and do you think its a good deal
2) Toronto freinds, are there good free wifi station in and around the city?

You are going to find all plans in Canada expensive. If you are coming with your own phone then the plans are a little more reasonable. Unfortunately the big 3 providers in Canada (Telus, Rogers & Bell) have a stranglehold on the consumer.

I am with Telus and own my phones outright. My plans are the minimum at $40,mth CDN per phone. Which only provides me with 1GB shared data. For each additional GB of data, I would have to pay $5/mth.

Some of our smaller providers are slightly better, but are owned by the big 3. For a real plan with most of the options ticked off., you can look at something in the $100+ range. It is expensive in Canada
