Just yesterday or today I noticed on my statement that amazon had charged 80 dollars for my prime membership.

I immediately canceled it. Will I get my money back? The only thing I ordered with the cheap fast shipping was my first and only purchase on the day I signed up for the trial.

nope they've taken your money and probably bought boooze with it and are drinking right now :)

Sign up 4 other people with your account and split the bill, that's what I did. It says family members only, but they didn't verify. That makes prime definitely worth it.

Prime has been great for me. I've easily saved hundreds on shipping.

But in your case, I'm sure you'll get the money back. Amazon is known for their customer service. Just send them a note, tell them what happened, and I'm sure you'll get it back.

Thanks for reminding me: I have to cancel mine as well. I have another couple of weeks before I get charged (if I don't cancel), but I better do right away it as otherwise I could forget and end up in the same situation as you, mate.
