But now have to wait for gift cards to be recharged and then 5-7 days processing time.

The 17", I think, for me, was too big. The resolution (upgraded) on the 15" will be great for me and the extra USB port is not a dealbreaker.
 
I have owned a 17" and it is not a pleasure to travel with. The high res 15" will be a great compromise!
 
Thanks for confirming - I do have several trips in the near future and was concerned about that. Space is limited enough on a plane.

I am super exicted, cannot wait!

Yep, I tried to use my 17" on the plane and ended up putting it in my lap! The 17" is OK if it is you desktop replacement and just sits at the house or office but it is a BEAST!:eek:
 
The 15" MBP with a hi-res screen is going to be perfect for traveling. You're getting a very nice screen resolution in a manageable footprint. Good choice.
