Cancelled Pre-Order...No Upgrade Now???

I pre ordered a black 16 GB on the 15th but a couple days later I decided to cancel my order and wait for the white model.

When looking at AT&T i'm no longer eligible for upgrade pricing. ($199/$299)

If I go to the apple store and they have white iPhone 4s will they let me upgrade if I show them my cancellation email and my eligibility for the upgrade pricing of $199 before I cancelled my pre-order? Will I be able to purchase the white iPhone for the upgrade pricing?

So does this mean if I try to walk into an Apple Store a week after launch I won't be able to get one (provided they have them)? My preorder isn't scheduled to ship till the 14th, so I was hoping to try my luck at a store some time before that.
