You have applecare monthly
Use a claim to fix your phone
Then cancel apple care monthly
What happens? Penalty?

I know with the full payment of applecare it will deduct the claim amount out of the refund if you cancel it early.

I don't think there's a penalty. You still have to pay whatever the fee is for the repair.

If you cancel you won't be covered and you won't be able to re enroll.

Ok so it is not like if you prepay the 199 ahead of time.

Why would there be a penalty? If you were covered when you used it and then cancelled, why should there be any issue? It just won't be covered going forward...

If you buy the 199 prepaid version, if you buy it, use it, then cancel it, they will deduct the claim value out of your refund (essentially all of it)

Right, that makes sense, but didn’t you say that isn’t what you bought? It makes sense you’d get a pro-rated amount back less the claim for the one-time purchase, but if you’re paying monthly, seems like it would be like tech insurance where you just aren’t covered anymore if you stop. If you were ahead at the time (hadn’t paid that many months), lucky you?
