Over here.
Hi all, I'm new to this forum as of a couple of minutes ago. I downloaded some new icons for my mac and saw a program called CandyBar. Does it only work on Leopard? When I try to run it, it says "You cannot use the application 'CandyBar' with this version of Mac OS X."

I have the most updated version of Tiger: 10.4.11

That is a little bit weird. To take a leaf out of Apple's book:

"Have you checked the permissions?"

Seriously though, 10.4.11 sometimes makes apps think it's 10.4.1, which is a significant problem. It's probably that.

CandyBar 3 (the one you probably downloaded) is Leopard only; you'll need CandyBar 2 which works on Tiger. No idea where to get it from though, you may have to Google it :).

Thanks for the link, and the program works. Unfortunately, I had already begun manually replacing alot of the icons, and the program won't replace those.

The manual "copy & paste" method works, but with out the transparency; so the icon is always on a black background. The icons replaced by CandyBar are great. I don't know how to un-do the ones I replaced and let the program do it's thing.

Any suggestions?

Select the application in the Finder.
Press Command-I or choose Get Info from the menu.
Click on the icon in the Get Info window.
Press Delete.
