this is a cool app but i find that most of these are really cheesy looking

Macthemes2.net and Interfacelift.com are by far the best and only sources for icons (as well as wallpapers and themes!). Everything is free, and there are some amazing things on both sites.

But yes, icons. Check both sites, and while Interfacelift is more organized, Macthemes has all the newer icon sets/themes/suites.

I like iconfactory.com. I know some are cheezy, but some of them are pretty fun. You may find a good avatar there...
