Candyshell vs Otterbox Defender

I am deciding between these two cases -

Viewing both cases it seems thats the Otterbox protects the iPhone screen more than the candy shell - but I am making the judgment because the otter box surrounds the entire phone. Is the candyshell a decent case for protection for the iPhone screen?

I think a better comparison with the Candyshell would be the Otterbox Commuter...

between those 2, the Candyshell would be the better choice... having owned both Otterboxes, the silicone will stretch out over time and is a lint magnet...

if you choose the Candyshell, make sure you get the newest version; the one with the HUGE camera cutout as the rubber on the front of the case wont flake like the older ones...
